here is a clip of my band playing live at my schools talent show this week. the first song is one of our originals, and the second song is our cover of the Phantom of the Opera... we are kinda well known for doing that song.

im playing most of the lead licks. during phantom, im playing the improv solo, not the melody line. I couldnt get my atomic miced, so the solos coud have definately be louder... o well. http://benolkinboy.com/Fretts/Fretts%20Talent%20Show2.mp3

this next link is one of my band playing a cover of "modern girls and old fashioned men" by the strokes while one of our vocalists and his girlfriend do a vocal duet.

Re: my band live

Pretty fun stuff-sure got the chicks revved up, bro!

Where in AK are you? I used to live up in Nome a few years back. I really miss it.

"you're so hot right now" :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

They want ya man

The first bit of the phantom of the opera sounds like echoes by pink floyd (the chromatic descending run)

Re: my band live

Hmm.
The singer's voice sounds original. Not bad. But he could use some voice lessons (not because he sounds bad, but to enhance what he already has).
As for the band, the intro riff (single coils guitar?) sounds very twangy and surfy and nice. The solo doesn't stick out as much from the band (is that intentional?). It's not a bad song, and I would be happy listening to this band: they're nice to listen to, not out of tune at all, and not "in your face" either.

Re: my band live

hey thanks guys. ya the solos are quiet, i didnt get a mic on my amp, and i should have. o well. and thats two seperate singers. one of them sings all of the first song, and then phantom is split between the two of them - each one took a verse. im pretty sure they were having trouble hearing themselves with the way the pa was set up, because they are both chior kids and have really good voices. thanks again for the kind words.
