Re: My band rehearsed in the studio a few weeks or so ago.
I once again would like to note that I never trashed Nathan for posting this originally. I never trash Nathan for posting clips. I always will speak on the recording quality (as many others have). I have in the past praised his playing.
I go to school for audio recording. My interest beyond guitar is recording quality. I think Nathan is a great player and he has a ton of love for the instrument. In fact, I think he has more love for the instrument than many people I've met, either here or in life. I want him to produce better clips because I know that he has potential to really do something with the instrument. I'm also honest to a fault. I tell people what I think. I don't pussy foot around. So Nathan, if I ever offended you for something I said, I apologize. It's not my intention to be a dick. I just want people to do their best.
Second of all, I do not post clips for one simple reason. I don't have the interest in posting clips. I'm a 90% self taught guitar player. My motivation for playing the instrument is not validation from someone over the internet. My motivation for playing the guitar is that I wanted to. I see no reason to post clips online, not because I'm scared about what you will all say, but because I couldn't care less. So if I have very little interest in what you all have to say about my playing, then why go through the trouble of recording something and then post it? I could think of better ways to spend my time with the instrument.
You also keep talking about "rights". That we have no "right" to comment on a video or a clip without posting one ourselves. I missed that portion of the internet orientation course that we're all required to take. Would you mind pointing me to the link where I can find this information?
What gives you, GV, Johnny the Kid, et al... the right to judge and trash a kid (Nathan) posting audio and video clips?
And furthermore, where are your guys' clips? Too scared you'll get ridiculed if you post them? But of course it's okay for y'all to trash Nate's clips.
