My Bands demo

Here are four songs off the demo, we recorded them both one practice. I like em a bit, a little sloppy since we didn't take too much time, but I would like some opinions. from mixing to anything.

I'm not for labeling ourselves, but we are sort of blues rock. I feel a bit shy posting these knowing probably 80% of this forum could outplay me, but what doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger.

ok wtf is that intro voices all about?

Intro riff sounds catchy, tell your singer to sing with a bit more conviction sounds like he's kinda holding back a little.

i quite like the track

i think that solo round 3:10 ish would sound better without that effect.. maybe a bitta wah for some cheese

i like the speeded up section in the solo, reminded me kinda of sweet child o' mine...

cool stuff, which guitar tracks did you do?

Intro is just us ****ing around, we chanted, "What time is it? Game Time! Roar!" haha and then slowed the tape down.

Yea, I agree with you there.

The solo was me, I was sort of burnt out and I didn't realize my univibe had the speed and entensity all the way up :blackeye: It sounds pretty shrill.

I'm the first guitar that came in and the solo on that track.

We have 3 guitars on several songs so its a little tedious to point out what fills each did since we pretty much can cover each other and often do.

i like the second one more so than the first, its got a cooler more funky groove to it

the only weak link in the song really is your singer.. with better sounding vocals the band would be killer i imagine.

it sounds sometimes like he's not keeping the mic the same distance from him, my old singer did that and it pi$$ed me off.. because his voice would come and go in volume and it'd sound stupid :laugh2:

your singers not as bad as mine, but there seems to be a lot of dips in volume

He is the best singer we could fine, capable of singing on key and was very instrumental in writing most of these songs, but liek you said we have to get him to work on his pipes a little.

Im not bashing your band its just a comment

the third one got me tapping my foot, i like heavier tone of it, but i cant hear any bass on it :S

is there any on?

if there is i'd mix it a little higher to make it sound fuller.

I hear ya, sorry if i came off a little harsh. We've gone through lots of singer haha. That song its been a little tough to try to find a happy medium on the bass. It has either been too boomy, or like now not there.

I know what you mean about mixing bass.. its a nightmare.

in fact mixing in general is a nightmare to me

I really liked Extraordinary Soul and RMS 192. Very catchy tunes. For having recorded those at practice I'd be pretty happy with the results if I were in your shoes.
