Given certain enviromental factors like room temp , I think thats just fine. Is it an older hand wound pup by nay chance? That would enter the human factor too.

I`v rebuilt my cc/59 hybrids to their original specs and i did an measurement
on them,both reads about 1k above what they should read ..hmm
That`s no problem to me but i just thought it was a bit weird that both reads above :)
BTW...i put a a5 mag in the cc :)

Heat increases the reading and cold decreases them...The readings will vary a small percentage daily...

Yeah...you gotta measure it out of the guitar.

Otherwise, the pots get measured too...and that throws the reading way off.

If you got one slightly overwound, consider it a bonus, because the C-5 actually has a tiny bit more mids by being a little over 15K. I have one specifically wound to 15.3K, and it kind of bridges the gap between the C-5 and JB.
