I find their website pretty enjoyable. Very informative. Sound clips and everything.

I don't know about the sensitivity, 102db would be pretty loud, they've got quite a few like that. :saeek:

Re: My compliments to the folks at Eminence

their prices are great comparing to celestion. I am waiting for Eminence's new speaker thats based on the Celestion 75, but the sound isnt as "harsh" as the celestion's model, better bass response and an overall tigther sound.

Re: My compliments to the folks at Eminence

yeah, i got a red white & blues, GREAT speaker

i'll definately (or most likely) get an eminence loaded cab once i get my bassman head

Re: My compliments to the folks at Eminence

I've got a celestion vintage 30 going into my combo tomorrow once I receive it, I'm excited to see how it'll sound. My carvin legacy cab is loaded with vintage 30's and I like them. I was looking at the Eminence Black Powder though. The last few issues of guitar one had sound clips of the eminence speakers and that one stood out to me, maybe I should have tried that first.

Re: My compliments to the folks at Eminence

Keep us posted as to how it sounds? I've been think'in about a
Privite jack for my Laney Pro Tube 50 combo.

Re: My compliments to the folks at Eminence

Great timing for Eminence! Thumbs up to them!

I remember the time just before they launched the Legend serie. Hifi style speaker intended for guitar use. THey always felt off the track with their designs, however they had great manufacturing facilites, which significantly reduces the price, the main reason why Crate, Peavey and Fender used their speakers. Moreover, they are located in USA.

A while ago, when they first came up with the Legend serie, they grabbed the attention. The best bang-for-buck for a british style speaker is the GB12, a GREAT speaker believe me, still is, it doest have the MOJO of a real celestion, but featuring the well-known Kurt Mueller cone.

Then, recently, exactly when Celestion started moving their facilities to China, BAM! came the Patriot and RedCoat series. Now THAT IS one of the best timing/move Ive seen recently. Great move. And great speakers too. Well-thought designs, finely tuned, and affordable speakers. I havent tried any of those, but only heard great comments so far. I doubt they missed the point this time!

We already had WeberVST as a fine speakers manufacturer in USA, but Eminence has a different market target.

WeberVST is filling the need for boutique-made speakers, built for vintage enthusiasts. However, I'm pretty sure that a certain part of their selection will drop in sales, but that's part of the game! More and more, companies need to focus on a very particular market/customer. They cant "do it all" anymore.

Been useing GB12s and 122s for a long time, love them. I also have a set of 1965 Eminence Alnicos that are simply spectacular. I have them loaded in a 64 Gibson Mercury cab , might be the best cab for blues I have heard. Personally I think the only mojo Celestion has on them is name, the current Eminence line is a better sounding speaker ( speakers) They also really impressed me with their customer service.

Re: My compliments to the folks at Eminence

Okay, I've tried the Red Fangs and loved them. Celestion Blues' tone at half the price. I've also got a Red Fang in my Tweed Deluxe and it KILLS!

Texas Heats. Wow, do these sound good in old vintage Blackface type amps. I'd not hesitate to pop a pair into a modern Fender reissue either. Classic american tone. Sounds great with my 68 Pro Reverb and with my new Two Rock Custom Reverb.

Copperheads (10") They sounded pretty good for what they are: 10" speakers. I just do not care for the low end response of 10's. Personal preference. Nothing wrong with the speakers per se.

I think these new Patriot and Red Coat series speakers are the bomb. Priced right as well.

Re: My compliments to the folks at Eminence

Texas Heat you said Scott ?

Gotta try this one in my BFDR... Im afraid the G12H30 in there will breakup too early.

Re: My compliments to the folks at Eminence

Anybody tried these speakers in a newer Fender, like the Hot Rod Deluxe? I'm considering a change...the stock speaker is Eminence. Of course, as it is stock, I'm sure these other 'tailored' speakers will get me closer to what I'm looking for (smoother distortion). I'll be sticking to Eminence...I like to support my fellow Kentuckians ;)

Re: My compliments to the folks at Eminence

I have the Red Fang in my Tweed Deluxe clone, I have a GB12 in the V-Series amp, just installed two 10" Ramrods in my Laney VC30 and I am also breaking in a Governor in my Yamaha T50C. Great speakers all, just waiting for the Ramrods and Governor to break in.

Re: My compliments to the folks at Eminence

i have a red white & blues in my hot rod

it sounds pretty much like the stock one does with the volume at like 1.5 when cranked

a little less top end though

Re: My compliments to the folks at Eminence

the eminence in my ampeg cab sound good, but cant handle bass very well. many factors can contirbute to this problem, so i cant blame the speaker completely. good prices, though on raw drivers.
