Hahaha ,I think two more months. It's going to get a crazy finsih on the body and Neck. There are some small wood parts to finish and lot's of contour work on the bevels and back.
And I would love to have it for a round. 4 strings 5ths ,4 string 4ths tuning. I have the 7 string version on my RG. GDAEADG hahahah

Wow, that's a DEEP scallop. I don't think I've ever seen that U shape done before either. Looks wicked.

Re: My Custom 1 piece 8 string multiscale guitar get's scalloped board

I wanted it like that and they where kind to do it. It's 27" scale on the low side and 24,5" on the high side. It's a pretty PITA job to scallop a multiscale board ,since the fretwires are not running parallel (except the 10. and the 11.)

SS wire ,maple board and wenge neck/body with a q-tuner. It can't get clearer sounding than that! Hope it comes out like I imagine!

Mmmmmm baby.
I know I already said this on Sevenstring.org, but it looks awesome:D
Just wondering, have you actually played an 8 string before or are you taking the plunge for the first time and just kinda taking a gamble that you'll get along with it?
I'm thinking about ordering an 8, 24.75 inch to 26.5 inch scale fanned fret sometime next year, but kinda scared that I'd receive and it be like "Well I don't even like how the low F# (or high A) sounds nor how wide the neck is" :laugh2:

Re: My Custom 1 piece 8 string multiscale guitar get's scalloped board

Well ,I use allmost the same tuning as I do on my 7. I needed Higher notes ,so wanted to get an 8. That's why it's fanned . If i wouldn't need the higher notes ,I would have a fanned 7 string and be happy with it.

I never playen an 8 ,but I played 5 string bass for a long time and know how the neck feels like heheh. The wider the neck ,the better the bendings and note balance.

Cheers man!

Wait, are you making this yourself, or is this something you're having built to your custom specs?
