My Day Off....

Another misadventure in shielding...

Thought I'd share - This is a little different to the usual method, adapted from the method Bruce Bennett (Member here) has posted on a few forums.

In addition to the brass plate, I'm using a conductive cloth tape I snagged off eBay a few weeks back - pretty forgiving to work with.

I've uploaded a few in progress pictures for everyone to snicker at... LOL

Before - with newly swapped pickups I wanted to try.

Adding on to the plate to fill the rest of the cavity

Cavities taped. (I did not miss a spot, but it looks like it)

Getting it back together - needed to add a little insulation in the jack cavity... Oh well...

Soldering it back together

Closing her up. That ground in in the front of the cavity messed with the middle pickup so insulated that one too.

Other than the little tab of copper, I did not do anything to the guard - yet.

Re: My Day Off....

Now she's done - instead of the pickguard screw ground, this one needed a soldered wire from the volume pot... Oh well, it worked on another. Not going to fight it.
