EDIT: It was just the adapter. Not its fault at all. It was connected to a 133V source instead 120V. Replaced by an euro one.

This damn thing has failed twice with almost no use. The first time was repaired under warranty (a faulty diode).

Is it possible that a tube has failed (it uses 2 12ax7)?It was working perfectly until stopped. CAn I notice it visually?

The transformer unit always goes hot as hell.

What an unreliable expensive thing.

I will thank you any help.

There's too little information to guess what the problem might be; without a thorough going over, there's no telling.

What country are you in, and does the pedal have current/voltage settings appropriate for local use?

I am in Spain, I am using a 220v-125v transformer to adapt it. Damage Control says it is OK.

I do not know what else to tell, I have no idea of electronics.

How can I know if a tube is gone?

Converting European power to American is rather tricky. If you try to plug in a device designed for alternating current into a direct current source, even though you're using a converter, it still may not work properly.

If the tubes are glowing blue (or, not glowing at all) instead of orange, you have a problem. Blue means there's electrical current shorting around the plates.

My best advice is to find a repair technician who knows how to fix the pedal in question. In addition to this, perhaps an email to the local distributor, detailing the problems (along with the exchange you've already made), would help you get an exchange or discount on a new pedal.

The transformer converts 220V AC to 125V AC, there I plug the the 120V device provided with the pedal.

The little windows where you can see the tubes were illuminated with red and orange LEDS, so I couldnt tell if the tubes glowed or not.

The first time I had to send it to England because the Spanish service said the faulty part was the microprocessor (BUT IT IS 100% ANALOG!:banghead:). So I wrote them again...

good lord, they make it appear in pics to be the soft glow of the tubes. what a crock.

Damn it, the transformer output measured 133V instead 125V. I cannot understand it, it was measured once before. The provided 120V power supply is gone. I have ordered another one with Euro specs.

Do you think those 13V plus were too much?

The tubes may be be able to withstand it, but the solid-state portion may not be able to deal with the additional voltage. Again, I'm just guessing...

This is a pretty good guess. Solid state components, especially semiconductors (transistors, diodes, op amps) are pretty intolerant of excessive voltage.

Is it possible that this voltage excess did not reach the pedal, just broke the adapter?

I mean:

220V ->133V -> 11V or 12V (broken adapter and pedal)
OR
220V-> 133V -> 9V (only broken adapter)

Sorry, I cannot how to explain it better in English.
