So look at the pix below and tell me did I get a sweet deal or what, EBMM Axis for $750. I call Ernie Ball today and gave them the serial number they told me the guitar was made on 02/23/2004, then ontop of that they gave me a 1 yr warranty on it and shipped me the warranty card and all the case candy and tools that were supposed to come with it, that is top notch customer service right there.

Wow! That is absolutely beautiful! The neck on that thing looks delicious! Congrats!

Re: My EBMM Axis arrived today

Enjoy that thing. The necks on those are smooth as butter.

I actually have a story-- there was an Axis virtually identical to this guitar in a local pawn shop a few years back. Except this one was beat to heck. Every screw on it was rusted beyond recognition. The neck was so dirty it looked like someone had played it with boot-black on their hands. The thick plastic finish on the back had shrunk so much there were cracks over 1/8" wide where it had pulled back and you could see bare wood. Someone had tried to turn the trem posts under tension. They wanted $950. I think I managed to talk them down maybe a hundred bucks. They had no turnover to speak of in the instrument section-- I think that thing hung there for 3-4 years. Every time I'd stop by I'd wink and ask if they were ready to deal with me on it-- "Nope, it's worth $1,600, see, right here in this pricelist, $1,600." They eventually stopped carrying instruments and it, along with the other guitars I knew so well disappeared. When I asked why they said there was no money in guitars.

I need to get back into the habit of dropping into pawn shops for a look every now and then. Haven't been in one in years.

Word. I have always felt that EBMM Axis' are one of those guitars that are no brainers when it comes to the asking price. They are worth every penny, any time. They have a playability and consistency that not many brands can claim.
