My Epi Elitist LP Standard

I've been too busy since Christmas to post a few pictures of the Epi Elitist Les Paul Standard I got for Christmas. Read in these forums about the MF sale and sent a link to my wife. I did manage to look surprised on Christmas morning:) . When I've had free time I'd rather play the guitar than take pictures of it but her she is:

Gibson Japan built a great instrument and the Epi USA tech did a good job of setting it up. It is a great guitar for me, I only play at home but I wanted a Les Paul (since seeing the Allman Brothers in 1970).

The best part is I can play her thru my Classic 30 at bedroom volumes and get a nice 'growl' out of the amp.

Nice grain! How are the pups?
I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of grain showing thru the finish. The mahogany on the sides even shows grain but the contrast you get out of our digital camera doesn't show it.

The stock pickups are good. The neck PUP has good balance for rythmn chords. On the bridge PUP, I have to tame the treble at home with the tone control, the treble might be there to help cut thru mix when playing live in a band. YMMV. The bridge PUP is going to be replaced with a 10K BroBucker and I want to do the 50's wiring mod, when both PUPs are selected I get a sudden decrease in volume as either pot goes between 2 and zero. Which seems different from when one PUP is selected.

My wife alomost missed it, $699 for the guitar is a great deal. She had to go out of town on business suddenly and when she ordered the Honeybursts were gone.

OMG!!! That is beautiful. I love the top on that. Excellent choice.

Is that a honeyburst or a faded cherryburst? Great looking axe...

Epi calls it Antique Cherry Burst. But methinks Antique == Faded.

Re: My Epi Elitist LP Standard

Very nice. I have the Vintage Sunburst and I think the stock pups are too hot and on the harsh side (especially the bridge) so I replaced them and should get the guitar back tonight or tomorrow from the tech.
