Missing from the board picture is my Vox 847 Wah and a buffer unit used before the Wah to keep any and all losses between my guitar and amp...On the board...Original Small Stone,Control 8 for MIDI control of my Fender Cyber Twin Amp,Marshall JackHammer,Boss DS1,Boss SD1,Ibanez TS5 TS,Ibanez TS 808 Reissue,Vox Valvetone,and the Juice unit that powers all of my effects..I use all George L cable,have no noise and very little signal loss if any?

Small Stone not pictured...Better closeup picture of the board..Maybe you could draw some ideas from my own board..All effects are velcroed to the board..The board is covered in black vinyl but black tolex is cool also or just balck paint..

I also do own several delay units that aren't currently on the board...If I use my Cyber Twin I really don't need any effects...If I plug into my Fender Deluxe,Pro Reverb,or my N Master Marshall I'll then add a delay unit to the board...This board and the effects gives me the versatility I need with any amp I decide to use on any given night...The Cyber Twin has been a real Godsend for me though because it's light,has great effects built in and the tone is great also...Wanted to share this with you all..

No...But since I Mod so many pedals,I Like to have them all on my board in case 1 pedal strikes my fancy...Using the buffer in front of all pedals makes the pedals sound better,cuts down on almost any noise,and drives the signal hot enough to where I don't lose highs and signal...I'd rather have my pedals on my board then in my drawer and all are hooked up and waiting to be stepped on at any given moment... :13:

Basically it's a 9v/18v power supply with either male and or female connectors that you wire to each of your effects...All you do is plug the Juice into the wall and then just wire from the Juice to each effect...I think the Juice is made by Dunlop but I've had it awhile and forget without looking at it? It keeps things neat,regulated,and no batteries going dead and degrading my signal....Even my Vox Wah and my old Small Stone are getting power from the Juice...The Juice comes with many wires with different ends on it so you can power up all of your effects.

All I do is put "Split Wire loom tubing in 1/4" size over my skinny George L cables for added protection..I'm very anal like that...The 1/4" tubing can be purchased a an automotive supply store...I get mine from NAPA Auto Parts...It's a cool idea and I wrap my guitar cable in it also...The tubing is plastic.

When you have your guitar plugged into that board and all the effects are OFF: how does that sound compare to just plugging your guitar straight into your amp?

I know where you're going with this "Tone God" and believe me when I tell you that if it killed my tone enough to have to think about it,I wouldn't have the setup buddy! :13:

As I've said Lew,all of my effects are "buffered" with a"PURE TONE" buffer pedal before the effects...The buffer acually seems to cut out noise but it also seems to smooth out the tone a bit..I don't notice any signal loss but a very slight loss in highend...I adjust my amp for that loss and it's so slight...Without the buffer,I wouldn't be able to have alot of pedals inline together...I get great tone normally...I'm way too anal to allow anything to kill my tone and I Know you know me well enough by now Lew? It's always about getting good tone.. :13:

Yeah...But all the different color pedals and different color LEDs sure makes me look cool and feel special... :dance: Alot of people in my circle(jerk) :13: Call me "The Pedler" :13: I haven't tryed the car battery,but I Know I'd need an alternator if I did! :32:

Lew..Here's the info on the Visual Sound Pure Tone Buffer I use..They only made about 200 of these and mine was given to me by my bass player..Works great!

"Secondly, the buffering system in the pedals was taken from our Pure Tone pedal. This pedal was built originally for guitarist Neil Zaza who needed something to clean up his bypass tone for all the pedals he used (VOX wah included). Pure Tone, when placed first in the chain, made it sound like you were plugged straight into the amp even when going through notorious tone killer pedals. We ended up selling about 200 of these to very happy tone conscious guitar players before we put it into Jekyll & Hyde as an added feature. So, if J&H or Rt. 66 is first in your chain, it will buffer everything that follows it as well as itself. Even if it's in the middle of the chain, it will still work to some extent.

Thirdly, the Pure Tone buffer also keeps the Hyde circuit (in Jekyll & Hyde) stable. In the early stages of design, I noticed that the Hyde circuit was prone to occillation and feedback until I put the Pure Tone circuit before it. Somehow, it left all the good characteristics in tact and eliminated the ugliness".

Very interested in this buffer thing. Have you opened it up and had a look. Is it a complex circuit?

The difference I Hear with the buffer before all of my effects and before my wah is not an issue...If it seems to be I Just adjust it on my amp(s)...The buffer really works great though...The buffer actually helps the pedal tone in my opinion..I'd still rather have the cool looking and working pedals on my board then sell them or let them sit in boxes in my drawer..That's why they're all on the board... :13:

Only to replace the 9volt battery which lasts an ungodly long time in this buffer....I know there's a chip in there but I haven't looked that far really into the workings of it? The same buffer is built into the Jeckyl and Hyde circuit..

I love looking at pedalboards! I really like the coiled cable with the George L's
ends. I use the regular George L cable and angled ends. You really have to cut the length precisely, to make the board look clean. On my board, I've run out of room, since some of the pedals are so big. I wish I could put a wah or volume on there, but have no more space. I really like the double tier
boards, since it allows you to tuck the power supply, wallwarts, and long cords under the tier. I have the Voodoo Lab PPII under my tier.
Also, I got colored zipties, and braced everything down with industrial 3M
Velcro + carpet glue, and orange zipties. My pedalboard is on page 1 of
"My Gear" I swapped out the Dejavibe for my 70's ADA Flanger.

How do you like that new Ibanez TS-808? Did you do any mods to that one, or is it still stock? I noticed you run the gain high on that one.
