my experience with incase (expensive gig bag) ...

tone4days

Heel Whacker
ok, so i finally decided to pull the trigger on a double gigbag for electrics by incase (http://www.incasemusic.com/) ... seems they are the cadillac of gigbags in terms of protection, and i have some disposable cash from gigs saved up ...

i visited the website to get the phone number because i had a question about how they separate the two guitars in the dub case ... i called all times of their business day over the course of 2 weeks and never got a human ... i left messages, but got no return calls

i found a 'contact us ' link and filled out the little e-form ... i got an email that seemed like a 'bot response' that had a form to fill in and fax back to them with my order, including credit card number ... i emailed back that address with my question, but no response ...

so i filled out the form and faxed it back (against my better judgement, but on a leap of faith given that other forum bros - here and the gear page - have incase products and dig them) .. the form says you will get an order-confirming email back within 24 hours ... it never came ... in the 'notes' section of the form i asked them to please call me (gave several numbers) because i had a question ... no call ever ...

so one day last week, i got an email from a 3rd party shipper saying that my case will be at my house o/a 9/20 via UPS

well, just as promised ... the brown guy dropped off my incase dub tour bag for electric last night right before i left for rehearsal ... 12 days from receipt of order ... $324.99 delivered

looks great ... feels real solid .. nice touch in that the neck support for the 'upper' chamber is attached by velcro to the plush separator to best adjust where it fits the heel ... real snug side-to-side fit for my brian moore i88.13 and my ibanez 540s ... the PRS McBLE fits real nice too, as does the tele-clone ... the only one that doesnt fit is the ibanez am-50 small body semi hollow ... it is very cool to have such a well made, lightweight way to carry two guitars in one case at a time ... with two guitars in it, total weight is less than that of one guitar in its hardshell case ...

minor niggles - not much room for 'stuff' like strap, strings, etc ... the backpack harness straps (although very heavy duty and secure looking) is not completely detachable and adds to the bulkiness ... i do not intend to wear it as a backpack (shoulder strap and handle are sufficient for me), so it would be better to be able to take the harness off to make room for strings, strap, etc ...

major niggle - never once communicating to a human being during the entire transaction

is there a market for used hardshell cases? ... i got two or three i won't be needing

cheers
