My favorite case

Re: My favorite case

I have an SKB case for my 2006 Epiphone Les Paul Standard...real good quality and very sturdy. It's also made in Orange County, California.

Re: My favorite case

I love polyfoam cases. They’re popular in the bluegrass world, where people carry instruments around all weekend at festivals.

Mike Marshall, one of my favorite mandolin players, carries his 1924 Gibson F5 (valued close to $200k) in a $80 Travelite foam case.

Re: My favorite case

Just picked up a mid grade Gator case for my 5 string Jackson bass. Killer case for the money. Full neck support and TSA locks. The only step up would be a full flight case for twice as much.

Re: My favorite case

100% worth the money, imo. I don’t travel with my expensive guitars (not only out of fear of the case malfunctioning but more so because of the chance of one getting stolen). So, a weird matter of fact is the reality that the skb case is worth more than the guitar that i typically count on it to protect!

It’s very rare for me to have a case that gets my juices flowing—- but this one does

Re: My favorite case

I would have gotten an SKB for my bass, but the only one that they carried that would fit it, was twice as much as the Gator.

Re: My favorite case

There are very few cases that fit within the megabus luggage specifications that are quality protection and light weight. That’s the main reason i went with the skb. I freakin’ love it.

Re: My favorite case

I have the rectangle polyfoam Roadrunner case
One in a bass size and one in a guitar size
Super light
Carried guitars across country in them
Worked just fine

Most of my newer guitars get hard plastic shell cases lately though
