My favorite guitar...

I just weighed that LP Goldtop and it's only about 8 lbs. Pretty light for a LP. Still 2-3 lbs heavier than my favorite.

One of these. Depends on day of the week...

My Goldtop is 10lbs, verified on the scale. I have a strap that helps it not feel like 10lbs though.

My favorite will always be my 30+ year-old frankenstrat. It's been thru a lot and has never let me down at a gig. Still plays great, sounds great. And it's 7.5lbs.

I know some of the Smart Wood LPs of the late 90s were about 7.5lbs. They had thinner bodies and tummy cuts...and I liked them better than normal LPs.

OK I have some nice guitars. My bad but I like guitars. I like mandolins, violins, keyboards and mouth harps as well (I don't own a mouth harp) but that's off topic. My current guitar list is as follows.

2024 American Pro ll Stratocaster
2024 American Pro ll Telecaster
2024 Gibson Les Paul Std
2024 USA Epiphone Casino
2024 Ibanez PIA3761ch

The problem is that whichever guitar I pick up, in 5 minutes, that one is my favorite! Now realize that I am biased. I have owned Fenders, Gibsons, Ibanez and Conklins over the years but I am Les Paul spoilled to my core. I avoided playing my LP in preference to the others but to no avail. I m a Les Paul guy to my core. The PIA is a tough *****, hands down. The Epi has so much chime and class ( hollow body P90 loaded) and a a Strat is a Strat, a Tele a Tele...

I have Gods Harom of guitars but I am drawn to that fricken Les Paul. It's simply lovely but seriously, aqll my guitars are.

what's your favorite git-fiddle? Do share!

Robert, what ever happened to the Les Paul you had that you brought to my house, way back when? I remember it had all gold hardware, double cream Duncans and you even had gold studs and screws in the pickups. I think it was either honeyburst, vintageburst, tobaccoburst, or something similar.

I have a Fender 70th Anniversary Broadcaster that I bought used when I stumbled on it on Facebook Marketplace. I grabbed it and through some finishing mods (I sanded down the back on the neck because the nitro was too sticky). Was really surprised to find it locally.

Was the CMT the one that was the same instrument as the Designer series, just with a fancy top instead of an Art Deco paint job? Or am I thinking of something else

Sentimentality comes into play for me here. I have strats and superstrats, teles, a couple LP-style single cuts, a semi-hollow and even a headless 7-string. On any given day one might speak to me more than others. My LP Studio is not the best-playing guitar in my collection, nor is it the most comfortable in my lap (I play seated more than standing these days), but that guitar has been with me for going on 25 years and if I were forced to sell all but one it's the one I would keep. I have guitars that play easier, guitars that offer broader versatility, and guitars that sound equally good, but the LP makes me work just hard enough to want to keep playing it, but not so hard that I would prefer to play something else.

The CMT's are not a Designer series guitar. They were being produced at roughly the same time that the Designer's were.

All time, my stolen '71 LP Standard.

From what I have currently it's a tossup between my...

1) LP Special P90 I modded with a Seymour Duncan Custom Shop Staple neck pickup.

2) '61RI SG Std modded with a TV Jones T-Armond at the neck, and a BG Pure 90 at the brige.

3) Gibson USA Adam Jones LP Std I modded with a Seymour Duncan Custom Shop Dynabucker single coil at the neck, and. BG Pure 90 at the bridge.

4) Eastman T64/V with a Bigsby an Lollar P90's.

I have a rack of different guitars that I cycle thru until one jumps out at me.

That one is my favorite.

Tomorrow it probably won't make the cutthe the one I reach for the most is surprising, my old rg520qs.

I have must have adapted my touch over the last ten years, because i dont have any issues with playing the paper thin neck.

Anyways, I put a paf joe/mo'joe combo in it, and a superswitch in it and i love how it sounds and plays.
A Gem.

how do you like that mo'joe? ive been interested but havent had the chance to play one
