My first attempt!

This is my first time trying to get everything together, instead of just guitar. I stole the drum loops off of my girlfriend's new Mac, so I can finally have drums! I recorded my guitar and bass throgh my V-Amp Pro. It's all pretty sloppy, but I'm just getting the hang of things, and I've only played guitar for about 2 and a half years, just started on the bass. The lead guitar especially is very sloppy, I just tried to somewhat stay in the right key, and I just played whatever came to mind, I only recorded the lead once, so excuse it's suckiness. Feedback is appreciated. :)

Fender Standard Jazz Bass
Behringer V-Amp Pro

the playing.....the talent is there....but as you stated, it needs work with the song. if i were you, i would record it again...because the song itself is pretty cool....good idea...

Re: My first attempt!

Pretty cool, but I agree with Xerxes. All the backing stuff is great, so I suggest just improvising over it a million times and picking out whatever you think is cool. Then you can slap it all together and make a wicked lead part. Right now as it stands, there are some sour notes.

Overall, it's really pretty good. You have some great ideas going there.

2 and a half years, huh? That's about how long I've been playing! :cool3: :)

Re: My first attempt!

doesnt really sound in key to me at all times.....somethin just isnt right

Re: My first attempt!

The soloing sounded out of key. Have you been taking lessons? Try and find out somehwere online about "Keys". It'll help a bunch with soloing. It'll be in complete harmony!

Re: My first attempt!

hm maybe we should post about keys in one the forums, i also know no theory and would like to know more about keys and stuff if someone has time to show us.
