My first "NEW" Guitar pics It's a Strat

Well after 7 months of lessons and about at least a dozen swaps and ebay trades I finally spung for a new guitar.
It was that darn post about the 350.00 Tele at GC :smack: I drove a couple of hours up to North Carolina. Man there was blood in the water an GAS all over ther place. I got there and Teles were gone but there had 1 Teal HWY1 Strat with maple bingo grabbed it. But I had to look arround some more after a 2 hr drive. I am looking at the wall of strats and all of a sudden there was just one staring me in the face with those eyes GAS struck. It was a Deluxe 50 th Strat Two tone burst with a vintage color maple maple neck, parchment pickguard and cream knobs.
It has a V neck, S1 switch the new style PUPs with that no load switch. I plugged it into a Fender and a Mesa amp it sounded right, really just right. The manager came over he was wanting to move some stock. I asked him for a special deal for the two and we settled for 329.00 for the HW1 and 900.00 including tax for the Deluxe with some strings leather strap .

You are getting a nice collection of strats here - are you trying to catch up with me?? :32: Damn good price on that Highway 1 (and you'll love that neck - although you may find that the pups will need changing). Great price for the Deluxe by the way and with that S-1 switching let us know what you think of it. I have to restrain myself until near Christmas time for any new stuff or early into the new year - its just to long :smack: !!

You are getting a nice collection of strats here - are you trying to catch up with me?? :32: Damn good price on that Highway 1 (and you'll love that neck - although you may find that the pups will need changing). Great price for the Deluxe by the way and with that S-1 switching let us know what you think of it. I have to restrain myself until near Christmas time for any new stuff or early into the new year - its just to long :smack: !!

Nope I am not trying to catch up. I was under the ether, bad. I will be selling something. I am waiting to see how the Hardtail sounds. I am thinking of ebaying the Hwy 1 after a while. We will see It maybe a good gift for my 16yr old.
I love the sound of that Deluxe rich and creamy. The S1 is cool, it also has that no load switch one the tone. I will be a while figuring it out. I don't have the sophisticated bionic ears that you guys have but it's the sound I want.
Remember it has only been 7 months of really listing to the tone in songs.
Plus I wear hearing aids. I have been learning what good is by listing to the trusted brothers here. Then I listen to how good sounds through hearing aids. It's the long way arround the block.

You are one of the nicest guys that and it is a pleasure to know you - one of these god damn days I am just going to have to track you down and play with some of your toys!!. The Hwy 1 would make an ideal present for your 16 year old - at the price you got for it and unless you are desparate - either give it to your son or keep it and use it as a project guitar. The Highway 1 strat that Jeff_H got for me has now got the Warmoth neck that I got from Fatty and believe me the whole guitar just resonates - lovely! Now all I have to do is think of what sort of pups I want to put in them :smack:

Nope it's new GC was blowing out a bunch of Hwy 1 Strat and Teles at most of there stores for 350.00 I got the cheaper price on the twofer deal.

I have just learned that the Deluxe is not a 50th it is just a reg Deluxe with the 50s V neck and S1 and the SCM pups and noload. It still is a smoking deal with the case and candy leather strap strap locks. $829.00 before 8.75% sales tax.

holy crap! i should buy one over there and let em ship it here.. even if the shipping costs 200$ it'll still be about half of what they're selling it here

Lou, I'm sending out your Fat 50's tomorrow, Friday. Depending on how you like the noiseless in your Deluxe, the CS Fat 50's would sound great in that! Or, you could drop them in your project strat, as long as your humbucker is in phase with modern Fender pickups. The current pickups in your guitars are more glassy vintage, and the Fat 50's are SRV Texas tone.

lou, i can see why you went with the 50th ann american strat. I have the same exact one, sunburst and all, except i took out the scns and put ant II surfers. Man i still cant get over the satin finsh on the neck, and even when my hands get sweaty, its still smooth! Hope you like it, i fell in love at first sight too!

wow i'm so jealus of that Deluxe.... :32: :32: :32: (my favorite strat color too)

NICE score... but i heard those deluxe models have something in that special switching that can cause your amp to send voltage back the other way and shock the $*@# out of you.... i know how to fix it tho.... just send it over here for a little bit n i'll fix you up....
