how does kirk hammett get that violin sound out of his guitar in that little thing he does before the solo of my friend of misery on the black album? i know he must be using some kind of echo. and in the cunning stunts dvd i have i see him using a pedal for that. can anyone help me out? thanks

Re: my friend of misery

volume pedal.

or you can use the guitars volume knob for that violin effect

Re: my friend of misery

Unless you are really good with your pinky, a volume pedal as mentioned would be best.

Re: my friend of misery

not an Ebow is it?I can;t find that cd at the moment but I know they used n Ebow on a few of the songs on that album.

Hi. This is my first post on this forum!

The volume knob on your guitar can be effective for the "violin effect"

the thing you have to be good at is doing it steady so it dosen't sound like the sound just cuts out.
Jimmy Page did in a song or two but I forgot which one...

CastIron, I see you have a crybaby and a crybaby from hell.

how do they compare, and is it worth the extra money for the Crybaby from hell?
