Hey guys. I really wanted this guitar, but was afraid to buy it because this guy had some seriously bad reviews on the acoustic guitars he made years ago. A few of the electric guitar reviews were really good, so I borrowed the money from friend that he's letting me pay back at twenty bucks a month and he gave me enough for the guitar and mods. I thought I was going to get a really cool looking guitar that played like a$$ and sounded even worse, but you know what? This is a great guitar! it is nearly ten pounds, has an ash body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. The frets are VERY good, save for a few sharp edges on the first fret and the action is great. Strings of course were horrible. The pots are nice and tight and the tuners are staying in tune and I'm really bending the %@#* out of the strings. The pickups are usable but bright, although the bridge pickup has a really cool Hendrixy type sound depending on which amp model I use on the Tonelab. You how you can "feel" quality when you pick up a guitar? That's the feeling I get with this. I'm not going to say it will rival a new Fender, but... The crazy thing is I paid $171 shipped from Vietnam. The eBay seller is Antoniotsai. I'm sure some of you have seen his stuff. Maybe I just got lucky, but this guitar is incredible. The nice thing is after I get pickups, I'll be able to pay a lot of the money back I borrowed without using it...SWEET!
I know that buying a Chinese (or in this case, Vietnamese) guitar is a no no to some, but I really wanted this guitar and I think the low cost guitars like this and Turser etc. are going to be the only things I'll be able to afford for a few years while I put my life back together. Wish me luck guys and thank you all for the great advice you've been giving me over the years.
Some of the shots are just so you can get an idea of the woodgrain and how deep the carvings are. It looks like a two piece or more body. Probably about fifty pieces, lol.
