An Ibanez RG 1527 Prestige model.
I picked this up for a great price, with Dimarzio Blaze pickups already installed, locking stud mod, CTS pots to replace stock pots and a Fender 5 way switch to replace the original switch.
Playability is just insane.

Sorry for some of the photos being quite poor, I'll upload better ones later.

I love my RG 7421, but the problem is with having Blackouts is that I had no access to single coil type tones, which I require for some of my clean playing.
Now that I have this, I have coil split ability. The Dimarzio Blaze and basswood body combo gives some interesting and unique split coil tones

Re: My latest score!

Looks like that 7 string thread inspired you.

What's the name of that finish? Looks great.

*edit*

I'm guessing gun metal blue.

Haha, I actually bought this 3 days before the thread was made and made the decision to purchase it about a month before that.
I think the finish is Royal Blue, but I'm not sure.

Re: My latest score!

Sweet looking axe. I've been trying to score an Ibanez 7 stringer for a good deal myself

Re: My latest score!

That thing is beautiful!
I have yet to play a 7 stringer... but must now.
Congrats!

Re: My latest score!

Harry, that is absolutely beautiful amd I bet it plays even better.

Well done mate:friday:

Now, which kidney did you sell?

Re: My latest score!

Congratulations. Those Prestige models are really nice guitars. Aside from some minor gripes about the hardware, they're every bit as good as the classic Japanese Ibanez RG instruments that people (that is, yours truly) love so much.

Re: My latest score!

Hmm, that's quite thoughtfully tricked out, and if you got it for a good price, a steal. I think the stock Ibanez switch is poor in that it's impossible to clean because everything is closed up. I remember seeing a pair of locking posts for sale at Allan's in the city a year or so ago, they wanted $50 for them.

How do you like the EP? As it's not as highly regarded as the old trems, though seemingly more so than the new Edge Zero.
