MY LIMIT

i cannot push this amp any harder in the front, loop, preamp, eq, post processing..these are passive pickups at there peak as well.
this is my personal limit of the heavyness for the DSL100.
if i want it smooth i have to back it down.
its set at the spinal tap settings
BASS: 10
MIDS: 10
TREB: 10

since i also dont want to kill the life of my preamp tubes it probably wouldnt be wise to leave them at 10. though i must admit it sounds deadly!

warning: this tone is not for all!!

Re: MY LIMIT

sounds great, I'd keep it like that, or use it for a song. unless the master volume is at 10, having the tones at 10 shouldn't bother anything tube-wise, right? besides, preamp tubes are cheap and just drop right in.

Re: MY LIMIT

It sounds good. I love my DSL. Have you tried Tung-Sols? I popped some into my DSL and it sounded really heavy. I went back to JJ's to keep a more classic DSL sound. See if Tung-Sols give you the extra little heaviness you need.

when i first got the DSL i had one TS, i liked it just about everywhere in teh amp except v3, then one day i put it in the PI, cranked the amp played it for about 10 mins turned it off..came back the next day to play and the TS was dead. im not blaming anything, tubes can die. i would get another when the day comes. them and LPS are my fav tubes.
