interesting! On a related note, I met the brother of the guy at copperhead guitars - I hadn't ever heard of the company, but apparently he makes guitar bodies out of copper!

Wow, those are pretty damn cool! I have buddy that built a bass out of steal. The body is the size and shape of a dreadnought acoustic and it has a P bass neck on it with the peg head cut like a Tele. The thing weighs a ton. You set the end on the ground like an upright to play it.

here is a steel neck aim working on

and this was my first try out
Making a neck out of sheet steel is not that easy and this can not be done over one night ice

i also build my nuts out of steel
my own bridge control plate
try to make everyting myself that give me the posibility to make it verry personal
and i can give everything the same look as the whole guitar

this is a base guitar that aim building fore koyle a band here in belgium
my guitars weighs around 3,7 kg fore lbs you have to calculate youreself

EDIT: What pickups do you use in those? The humbuckers look like they have slug polepieces showing through the cover, rather than the more usual screws.

this one has EMG the same Metallica use
but i gonna put the slash signatures in it
