My MIM Strat is chimey

Like there's chorus or something on
But it's just the guitar straight into the amp ( Laney GC80A)

2013 MIM Strat

Ok so I have some upgrades
I do have the Fender locking tuners
I did change the pickup covers which may have moved the pickups up or down a bit
And I did put the black metal knobs on it

But none of my other guitars have this chime
Could be the newer strings

Could be the springs

I like the sound but what is the cause


Anyone got ideas?

Is it on all the strings? Open and fretted notes? All pickup selections?

Did you leave off the string retainer on the headstock? I get sympathetic ring above the nut if the longer strings are not held down. Otherwise could be the vibrato springs.

Vibrato springs. . . they do a kinda reverb/extra ringing string thing.

^ That's the built-in reverb. Saves them from having to put one in the amp.

Did install a cheap roller string tree

It is in all positions down the neck

It isn't affected by pickup selection
