Pics of my modded Squier VM'51 guitars.

The red one has a Dimarzio Mo Joe in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan STK-S4b in the neck. I had a mini toggle switch and no load tone pot added.

The blonde guitar has a Seymour Duncan STK-S4n in the neck and a Seymour Duncan Screamin Demon in the bridge. I had a concentric volume/tone pot added.

These looks awesome! How they sound/play?
I always wanted one. thought about trying to build one... Maybe someday...

Re: My modded Squier VM'51 guitars

Always thought those were sharp looking guitars.
Reminds me of the old Robin Rangers.

Re: My modded Squier VM'51 guitars

So you modded a modified guitar
That's novel

Love that Red and maple

Re: My modded Squier VM'51 guitars

The guitars play great. Neither had any issues with bad frets and the hardware is decent. I bought all the pickups used, so I didn't put a l8tr if money in them. I just got the pickups put in today. My first time trying the STK-S4 pickups and so far I really like them.

Re: My modded Squier VM'51 guitars

I just got myself a 2nd Gen blonde one. I had a 1st Gen burst (with a APS-2 neck and a Phat Cat bridge). I regret selling it.

Don't know what I'm gonna do with the blonde though.

I'm loving those!

How's that Demon working in that guitar? I love mine.

Re: My modded Squier VM'51 guitars

I had a first gen. '51 at one point, bought at the point when it was somewhat faddy to do so... Sold it pretty quick as I had too many guitars anyway at the time, and I didn't get along well with the neck... But that was years ago, I'm sure I would be less picky if I had one now.

I can attest to the Demon and STK combo being great :)

Re: My modded Squier VM'51 guitars

I like them. They're different looking and even tho they are Squier they play great and now with the better pickups/controls they sound great. I may end up changing out the Mo Joe for a slightly lower output pickup later on, but I'm in no hurry.
