My name is Curly, and I like teles, part IV.

I was just looking at the guitars on your site which you've built. They're all beautiful!!

Re: My name is Curly, and I like teles, part IV.

thanks folks

the funny thing is I don't consider myself a tele player, but I'm kind of haunted by something Scott Lentz told my friend Jack:
"one out of ten players who order a strat are good, and nine out of ten players who order a tele are good" ....
(or something like that) :)

the gist is that teles require more work ... they're raw and unforgiving, and they are strong in the areas that strats are weak: teles have a great bridge tone, and are weak in the neck. Sometimes the two pickups are hard to balance, and make you work the knobs a lot.

however, like many things in life, with more effort, there is more reward

Very sweet!! If you do end up building these things I would be glad to be your 1st customer. I have had a custom Tele in mind for quite some time now.
I consider that one of the nicest compliments.
Well, now, you don't have to go into business, per se, but you could kinda keep a sideline running to feed your habit. Nothing's more fun than someone paying you to do what you like doing.
thanks,
I've had a guitar dealer's license, so I understand the difference.
It's fun until it becomes a job.
One more cool guitar from Curly!
You are giving me cravings for Teles:D
haha ... another nice compliment!
how much is shipping to Denmark????

thank you Sir!
I've stuck to tried and true combinations in most cases, used the best parts, and put my heart and soul into each and every project.
I've had some great successes, and some glorious failures. :)

Another masterpiece! I tend to walk the wild side, but a 'pure' Tele is something I'm probably gonna have one day. Nice work, thanks for the GAS.

Beautiful! Just damn beautiful :D

Wish I could take it for a "test drive"...

Keep up the great work!

I really want your Tele with the Bigsby and P 90 looking 'Trons.

Re: My name is Curly, and I like teles, part IV.

Very nice Curly. I'm in the middle of slapping one very much like your avatar together right now. Body is also from USACG, but mine is hollow (no F holes). Mockup is done. I'm about to head back down and start finishing the neck.

(wish I knew how to post pics...but I'm too much of a dum-dum.)
