Hahaha.... I hear you on that. I had a few EL84 amps (a Vox AC15H1TV, a Fargen Epic 30DC, a Bad Cat Hot Cat 30 and a Crate V32 Palomino) and I liked them, but I never loved them. They're great for that slight clipping thing, but over time I felt they were a bit abrasive on the highend. Marshalls have a smoother, fatter tone to them (due to EL-34 tubes) and the "American" sound categorized by folks like Fender really make for a bright, but smoother and more balanced sound.

That same setup is what I use at guitar center to test out guitars. I plugged an OR15 into the EVH 212 one day months ago and it's still sitting there like that, so somebody else must like it too. Great sounding setup.

Stand the Cab up vertical to get one of the speakers off the floor and closer to your ear. And your setup gets a big thumbs up. I'm looking for a 2x12 right now, and I wish I had a TT as well.
