My new carvin 7 string...

Re: My new carvin 7 string...

Instead of having Carvin send you more Carvin electronics, run to Sam Ash and get a Fender 5 Way. Maybe someone here can dig up a floyd nut bolt and send it to ya for free. I would if I had any.

It's cool that you've got your Duncan UGD pickup to put in that guitar. I'm sure the Carvin singles are good enough to leave in there. Afterall, you'll probably be using the humbucker 90% of the time anyway. Cool guitar! I've had a couple Carvin guitars, amps, and PA gear. The reason they get a bad rap is because of all the small crap, like you well know. Overall, the guitar itself is high quality and worth the money, though.

Definately

I know I may be complaining a lot...but overall its a fantastic guitar. I'm probably gonna do what you said too...I'll just run down to a local music shop and pick up a 5 way...or i might have one on hand right now. I'll check that out. Don't wanna stick sub-standard electronics in my guitar...

edit: I ended up going down to the starving musician and bought a replacement locknut screw.

Looks like Carvin really does have sweet deals for good prices!

Good prices, sweet deals, hell yeah. Might need a little work when ya get it, but it plays and sounds great.

One thing that really impressed me was the metal inserts for the control-plate screws. Little details like that just add a nice :cool3: factor.
