I am getting(after a 3 month wait,and I am an endorsee,If I were not it would be a one year wait.Gerard is doing Great,as well as his guitars )my New Melancon KOA Custom Artist.The New guitar has My Seymour Duncan Pu combination.A jazz hum in the neck,a vintage rails (new ones)in the middle,and a JB hum in the bridge.The Guitar is wired in Stereo,and has the piezo pu installed on the bridge.I get it this Monday Jan 15th.I wil attach the last jpeg Gerard sent me.How do members feel about Melancon guitars?Sincerly,

Very nice. How are you planning to have it wired up? Any coil-taps etc?

I know you do the majority of your work in the studio, but please tell me you're gonna have gold hardware put on that baby. That thing has more flame on it than a tiger on fire!!

I've played a few Teles that they made that were gorgeous guitars they get some incredible cuts of wood. Seemed a little pricey but certainly they were very nice guitars.

The top on that one is pretty hot.

How do I feel about Mels? I want one. But I can't justify it.

Gerard can custom wire pickups, too. EVERYTHING about his axes is top notch.

Beautiful. Probably the best and most uniform Koa top I've seen.

As a fulltime session player, do you tend to use a lot of different guitars, pinpointing certain sounds, or do you tend to always rely on your very favorite for most of what you do? How many do you usually have in your revolving stable of guitars?

I've had GAS for a Melancon for the past few years. Got tempting when a friend found a used one at a good price in Hawaii...freight and currency conversion still would've worked out ok.

How do you hook it up? From the looks of it with a 5 way switch, what does each position do? Any coil tap/split coil positions?

Do you know if some of the backlog is still due to the Gerard's wife having an auto accident awhile back? Last I heard, she was healing beyond expectations.

I would imagine that Gerard was away from the shop quite a bit for a couple of months.

Hi Carmine, no I didn't end up pulling the trigger on that Melancon, even though it would be pretty cheap by New Zealand standards. Sometimes further down the road maybe...

It was a nice Custom Artist T. Very pretty, but for another time I think.
