My New James Tyler SE HD

2 JTV singles and a Duncan Trembucker w/mid boost.

The first time I picked it up and plugged it in, I noticed a HUGE difference over every single Strat I have played, owned. VERY resonant and the feel of the necks are just incredible. The 2-point Wilkinson bridge w/the bent saddles feels and sounds very close to a 6-screw! The body is made of Mamywo (sp?), great tone wood, has firm lows, and is less bright than Alder.

Very expensive, but worth every penny, and I will buy another shortly. I didn't like the Dimarzio Virtual Vintages, and James installed 2 real singles in it that are wound at the Tyler Shop here in Los Angeles, and they sound VERY chimey.

Beautiful guitar! If I was looking for the ultimate H-S-S setup, I'm pretty sure Tyler would be it. That mamywo wood always looked real interesting too, I've only seen Tyler ever use it and it always gets good reviews from players.

Re: My New James Tyler SE HD

It is one of the very best superstrats I ever had tried.
I have tried a Landau and a Huff, plus an old Ultimate Weapon sofar:D
Awesome guitars!
Totally great players!

I'm glad you guys really like it, thanks.

Good to hear it gets Rid's stamp of approval, too.

Wow thats a gorgeous top!!! How much are they if you don't mind me asking? It looks very 3 dimensional... VERY nice burst colour too. All the best.

Re: My New James Tyler SE HD

Looks like an awesome HSS strat.

Though - Tyler headstocks make me feel like stabbing from time to time.

Sweetness! I love the fact that Tyler goes out of his way to do something different with a classic design. I've fallen in love with any Tyler I've picked up, but never gotten serious about the dough needed to aquire one.

Very nice. I like how Tyler's guitars have a distinctive look compared to other superstrats. I especially like the vomit and schmear finishes.

Are Tyler doing the stainless frets thing like Suhr and Anderson? -I've tried a bunch of Suhrs and each one of them has been fantastic except for the stainless frets. Ugly bright.
