Re: My new preset for GSP1101, metal content, success
Here's the parametric eq I used on yours:
low +5db@140hz wide
mid +5db@850hz medium
high -4db@5.0khz narrow
Might be good to use the pedal to turn the parametric eq on for rhythm and off for leads using the same patch. On, it scales down the highs a bit and gives it the low end punch for palm mutes. Off lets the lead tone cut without flubbing a mix when everything goes to the low strings.
Raise the Amp Gain to about 60-80, though, and you might want it On for the solos instead to cut down on the buzz.
Here's the clean I use:
CS Compressor
-sustain 52
-attack 0
-level 99
-position pre-amp
jc120 with jazz 2x12 cab
-gain 70
-bass 6
-mid 7
-treble 7.3
-level 85
-lpf to xlr off (i'm not using the 4-cable method or the xlr outs, just the two 1/4" outs)
glisten chorus
-post-amp
-speed 20
-depth 70
-level 78
-left and right wet 99
reverb
-lex hall
-predelay 50ms
-decay 40
-liveliness 40
-reverb level 35
-left and right wet level 99
Try it with a 59n in parallel or split, picked gently with a heavy pick (Jazz III), as a thin pick will probably be too piercing.
Reminds me a lot of the clean tones from Midnight from Surfing With The Alien (the harmonics especially).
