This is the "basement" of my new townhouse. i had it "soundproofed" with a layer of insulation then soundchoice fiberboard, green glue, and extra layer of drywall.

Its just for screwing around and drunken delusions of grandeur with my bros that still play. and doubles as my secondary AV setup & game system hangout room.

I'm stoked with how it turned out and 3 jams in no complaints from the neighbors or wife!

man I'd love to have a place like that....... I'm definatley including somethin like that in my plans when I build a house in the future.

Did you do the construction or hire out?

How was the Green Glue to work with?

I've heard that an astronomical amount of it is needed, like a tube or two per sheet of drywall. And it's not cheap stuff either...

great use of leopard print, cool mirror above the couch, great amps and guitars, just an overall kick ass room! that said though, the real question (from a big fan of the show) is, where did you get that House IV bag you have on the drums? that thing is sweet and i want one!!

hilarious
that is my favorite part of the kit. I am a TV editor and the House blood bag was in the DVD presentation they sent out for emmy consideration a couple of years ago (during emmy voting season we get tons of DVD's sent out by various shows ads basically "vote for me advertisements"). my buddy that plays drums is a veterinarian and i thought it was good for the Dr. to have blood bag on his kit.

I hired out the construction through a couple of guys that work for a contractor friend of mine. They did a great job and all told my parts & labor cost was about $4.5k which was very reasonable considering what i ended up with and I live in L.A. where everything is inflated. I was hanging around annoying them through the whole process and the green glue was a mild pain ( considering these guys were used to just throwing up drywall) and it does get used up quick but overall was simple/easy to apply per the instructions and it seems like it works but i have no way of isolating its effectiveness from the rest of the dampening measures i took.

thanks man that tele is my #1 .. i love her...
i need to switch back to the 250k pots tho.. i slapped 500's in there to see what it would do and it got really dark which seemed contrary to what i would have expected but my ears hear what they hear...
