My next guitar!

So you guys were so great with suggestions for my next amp and it helped me make the move to a fully modified Mesa 3 channel Dual Rectifier. This was modded by my buddy Brian at BFG. Maybe throw some suggestions my way on guitars? :)

So, I am in the market forf my next guitar. While I have the money, I want to get one because I know the day may come when I can't afford to be buying any more guitars.

I like variety but I do tend to favore Gibson and PRS solid body and I also am not a trem user, however, my favorite PRS is my 1994 CE-22 with trem. Sounded way better than my McCarty hard tail or Custom 22 hard tail.

I am not much of a strat guy although I like a strat for some occasional clean and light crunch songs in our set. I am a big 90's hard rock and grunge guy, also love classic rock, prog rock and some modern hard rock.

Semi hollow body electrics like the ES-335 or ES-333 are cool but the Epiphone Dot I had got on my nerves a little because of the size of the body.

Amps are modded (BFG) Mesa Dual Rec, PWE Event Horizon and 20th Anniversary Bogner Shiva EL34.

Guitars right now:
2003 LP Standard burst
2003 Fender Highway Strat
1994 PRS CE-22 (5 way)
2012 Fender Amer. St. Tele
1989 Gibson SG Special
Takamine Acoustic Electric

What I am considering (all used):
PRS DGT's, Custom 22s, McCarties or maybe a DC or SC.
Another PRS CE-22 with different electronics.
Gibson SG Standard
G&L

?

:)

Re: My next guitar!

Just busting balls, dude. You seem to be on here a lot talking about your next piece of gear. You seem to be hard to please.

No, not hard to please at all. I just like buying gear, I am always buying something, either another guitar, amp or something.

How about a Firebird?

To round out your collection, I'd recommend a 339 (smaller 335), Flying V, or a PRS Santana SE.

Re: My next guitar!

You already got Strat and Tele from the F side, and LP and SG from the G side. Acoustic is done too.
Why not complete either side with Flying V, Explorer, or Jaguar/Mustang/Jazzmaster?

I'll take this as another vote for a V. I like mine. They seem to sound pretty good with a variety of PU's, and you have total neck access. They're used in a lot of genres. I say 'go for it!'

Re: My next guitar!

I recommended the Firebird due to it has Minihums which really are quite different then singles(your Fenders) & full size Humbuckers(the Gibson's) It should give you a nice middle ground!
