My next venture into amps! Here's what I am thinking....

B Bent

Vibroluxologist
Since I have owned more than 3 dozen amps over the last 2 years I have really learned a lot and have been highly disappointed overall. I have owned the creme of the crop, but nothing has satisfied my tone quest like the Vibrolux Reverb. I still love that thing every time I plug into it.

The mere word Vibrolux has started to really intrigue me. I want to know everything about them. i have been reading tons of history on how the Vibrolux has changed over the years that it was produced.

I think I am going to try to start a Vibrolux collection. I don't care if I like the way it sounds or not. i just think it would be cool to start investing in them and be THE Vibrolux guy.

I am obsessed with them!

i know I am nuts, but who cares! It's all about having fun right!!!

If it makes you happy and doesn't hurt anyone, do it. Nothing wrong with it.

Then wouldn't that make you a TryAllVibroluxsBeforeIDieologist?

.....says the man living with his parents without a real job and teaches guitar under the table.....

Seriously...if you're slumming for a 5150 then I'd put money on it that in under a month for the trouble of flipping burgers you could afford it and a backup!

Vintage gear is pricey but if you make good choices it'll only increase in value. If you keep your eyes open deals can be found.

:haha: Harsh.

I'm the guy slumming for a $50 pickup, but I don't live with my parents and I'm a full time student, so I guess I get some sort of a pass. No car though. :laugh2:

I don't want you to see it as attacking but as making an observation.

I'm not interested in de-railing the thread but there are more than a few folks on here with Bogners and Deizels and plenty of other high-end gear that seem to escape criticism when, in fact, compared to proven vintage gear, are potentially unlikely to be as good an investment?

And last I checked you were attending Bob Jones University, correct? Does that not mean you finished your home-schooled highschooling? Does it also mean that there is not a McDonald's that's hiring?

Greg -- or anyone -- give me a list of some famous Vibrolux-playing guitarists (besides Greg and Mr. Buchanan). Just curious.

I just like how Vibrolux rolls off the tongue. For that reason alone, I must have one! LOL

And I don't care if I have to empty trash baskets and scoop crap......I'll have one. hahaha

Re: My next venture into amps! Here's what I am thinking....

Wow.. after hearing a bunch of clips on them, and on youtube.. I think I need to go out and procure a few..

Re: My next venture into amps! Here's what I am thinking....

YES!! My choice of Vibrolux(es) whenever I'm at Greg's house!!! I say go for it man... for my sake!

Re: My next venture into amps! Here's what I am thinking....

there's a few of those Vibrolux's here in San Antonio at the used guitar stores...I may have to try them out...

Re: My next venture into amps! Here's what I am thinking....

Vibroluxes are my favorite fenders. My next (non-jtm45 style) 6l6 amp will probably be a pre-blackface Vibrolux or clone. There's something about the 2x10 arrangement that I somehow prefer to Supers and tweed bassmans. Can't explain why...
