so my output jack has been causing problems lately...

1. Before when i had everything connected, all the cables and made sure they were tight, there was no signal

I re-connected everything again, fired up my amp again, I got sound.

2. Today, it was different.

I had everything secure. Volume knob on ten, amp volume the same as previous, but the sound is barely hearable.
I twisted the cable on the ouput jack and there was this crackling noise.
I tried a different cable. There was still the same weak signal.
Twisted it around and got that same crackling noise.
After more fiddling, the sound got louder, but then it would diminish at the end..

3. ive come to the conclusion that my output jack has been screwed up. correct?

i think its time to replace that damn thing..

thanks

Re: my output jack..argh...help

should be a fairly easy repair ... just take it out and inspect the solder joints

Re: my output jack..argh...help

ive been having output jack problems too!!
i have a guitar that has a barrel type jack and the damn thing keeps going bad so i have to drill out the hole to put a normal one in there. not a big deal but since i dont have a drill big enough and a forstner (sp?) bit wont work since the hole is too big its become a pain in the backside
