My Pedal Board

This is my pedal board at its current state

I purchased this case from Rondo for about $40. It's a good quality case, but the fabric was a little wimpy - so I replaced it with some automotive carpet.

I put a 3/4" shelf along the top to get the top row of pedals up a bit - making them easier to hit. There is also a shelf on the right side to make the input plugs easier to insert.

The red cables are all GeorgeL Cables. The power system is from Godlyke.

My newest peal is from B Bent (Gregg) - it's the purple one on the right - the Switcheroo.

It works like a champ.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the board. But it could probably be just a bit larger (up and down). The only pedals I can put on the top row are DODs because they don't have any plugs on the top side. This makes the pedal path a little complicated.

Rondo does make a bigger one - if I were do it over again - for the same price.

Re: My Pedal Board

Cool, 10 pedals. That's about the quantity of pedals I will eventually have for what I have in mind. Do you have link to the powersupply model you got ???

Re: My Pedal Board

a lot of DOD, I'm surprised!
Yeah, they are probably a little noisier than higher priced pedals, but they seem to do the job and it's hard to argue with the price. I may replace the fuzz pedal - I have a hard time finding a use for it and I could replace it with something more useful. (And as I said, the DOD pedals seem to be the only ones that work on that top shelf.)

I also have a channel switcher, but alas - no room. The Godlyke power supply can power up to 20 pedals - so I'm good there. Here is the link I can't say enough good things about this power supply. It really cut back on the noise when I got rid of the transformers. I've heard the One Spot is pretty much the same technology. Of course there are many (much more expensive) solutions that are very good, too. But this suits my needs and my wallet.

Man, that's cool, I just order the Large one from Rondo last week(well, my folks did really, it was my birthday present) and it should be here today! Now I'm excited! Not that I have many pedals, but it'll be nice to start with a good board and power supply, and build from there! Nice work bro! It's funny, your Tubulator settings are the exact same as mine! ;)

Wow that purple pedal is sexy!!!! Looks good there Mr. James!! I need a new pedalboard. I really don't like mine.

I think you'll be happy. Mine is the 11" deep one - did you get the 15"?

A couple of things to keep in mind. They give you a small strip of Velcro - throw it away - it's junk. Go to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy some heavy duty industrial strength Velcro. And some pedals have a rubber bottom held on with clue that is wimpier than the Velcro. If you can easily peal that rubber off, you may as well do it now before the Velcro does it for you.

The fabric on the pedal floor is okay, but on mine they were not very generous with the glue to hold it down. It worked well until it got really hot one day. I opened the case and the glue had softened and the fabric had folded up on me.

I just replaced the fabric with automotive carpet held down with carpet tape. I'm not sure the carpet tape is the best way to go and I may do it over with contact cement.

Also, I generally try to store the case flat rather than on end so the pedals will stay put.

These things are all really minor. The case itself is very well built and I'm very happy with it.

Sexy it is! I like it a lot! :fing2:

Re: My Pedal Board

Thanks for the tips James, I ordered the 15" x 27" one, I plan on using it as a GNX1 case, just the GNX1, some cables/power strip, and headphones. I might wind up keeping all my pedals in there. The only pedals I really use, and will always use, are my amps channel footswitch, and Boss NS2. Sounds good, will definitely get some velcro while I'm out today.

Re: My Pedal Board

Looks like you have all your bases covered. I got one of them self powered boards from ebay for $29.95 came with a nice carry bag. It's got enough room for my stuff. I know what you mean by putting the DOD pedals on top.Got my own FX looper in the upper left.

Well, I can't say for sure on all those... but I'm pretty impressed with what it can do. I've had to use the reverse polarity tip* on two pedals and I used the 1/8" power jack on the Small Clone. It also includes two leads that have the same clips as 9v batteries - so if you can't get a direct match, just slip these into the battery compartment and your set to go.

*The Behringer volume pedal required a 12v positive tip power supply or a 9v battery - which made no sense to me. The pedal was cheap, so I risked damage and hooked up the reverse polarity 9v lead and it worked fine. If it didn't I would have gone for the battery clip thing.

Re: My Pedal Board

Nice lookin' boards. All I have is a Boss BCB-3 that I don't even use. It just houses my Boss pedals that don't have a box to stay in. I only use 3 pedals out front anyway so I never bothered getting or making another board but I think I might make a small one to keep them on and just use a laptop case to carry it in. And since I use batteries only, no need to have room for a power supply.

Re: My Pedal Board

I got a Rondo Board too. I decided to have a removable board so that I could have my pedals mounted. I thought the case was a little flimsy to hold all the pedals, now it acts more securely as a case.
