My pedal collection

Re: My pedal collection

You can't see the box Alan's using in that DVD... you can only hear the original track (one of the female vocal tracks) solod for a few seconds, and then a few seconds of it with "the effect".

I've been in & around studios for a long time...like 15+ years. NEVER heard of a "frequency analzyer" effect before that or even seen such a monstrosity and I've encountered & used most all of the hulking "old guy" stuff like the Cooper Time Cube edit: (2-rack space delay box that uses garden hose! circa 1971???) all the cranky old Eventide rack boxes like the H910, Instant Flanger and other things that are "emulated" by plug-ins now but were bad-ass in 1976.

They were just "old boxes" when I got into things during the early '90s.

Surely there can only be "one" such beast named the Frequency Analyzer right?!

The other VERY kool DVD that you need to go out and purchase tomorrow is Floyds "Live @ Pompei, directors cut" which not only has live Floyd at the Pompei ruins... but adds about three metric TONS of long uncut footage and interviews with them at Abby Road while making Dark Side but without any of the "glory days" re-creation stuff.

A glimpse into the working life of PF in 1968.

You'll see how it all came together...

Go.

Purchase.

Watch.

Awaken.

Re: My pedal collection

Oooh, sweet. I have the VHS, I guess I need the DVD now too.

I hate to say it, but memories fade, don't they? Was it modern footage where he mentions the Frequency Analyzer? Regardless, I still need to watch it again. :) It's interesting how old boxes that sound like crap doing what they were meant to do can do something crazy when used in the right way. Regardless, I'll see what I can find...

Re: My pedal collection

Here is most of mine. four or five others didn't make the pic.

PFDarkside, You should come down to the Vintage HIWATT Convention in June. There will be some other Gilmour fans there with their amps and effects. I also have an almost mint Leslie 900 exactly like David's.
