My Plexitone arrived

Re: My Plexitone arrived

Valves....uhu no, and it is as digital as line6 is analouge;)
So it is analogue, good. I iked the sound clips on MF.com a lot, its just that I for a moment thought that it could be digital. STRUTDELUXER did an amazing job on my TS9 but I am JJing my Laney so may be I will be inspired for another classic tone gun after that.

Re: My Plexitone arrived

After having this for a week I can say this is a great pedal. I think you could honestly save a lot of money by buying one of these and a modest amp and still have a killer rig. I cant get over it.

Re: My Plexitone arrived

I scored a used Plexitone on ebay too. I've had it since Monday, and so far I am loving it! :fing2:

It's voiced beautifully and does the full range of convincing Marshall tones from bluesy breakup to high gain. It sounds considerably better than some of the Marshalls I've used over the years :D, and I absolutely LOVE the flexibility and versatility of it!

I'll wait until after I've gigged with it next week to post a full review.

Rid - you're a genius. :notworthy

As a guy who has never played a really good distortion pedal, this is inspiring.

I basically need a pedal which will allow me to play into a nice clean small (15w) solid state practice amp and sound pretty nice--"Marshally".
No gigs or anything, just home playing at very modest volumes.

Will the Plexitone meet my needs? :fingersx:

Absolutey and so will the MI Audio Crunch Box, its a great one too but the PT is the tops for me.

It will probably do as good of a job as anything else.. and the price is right for such a great pedal.

I play mine through a plexi reissue, so I can get some versatility an good crunch and lower volumes. The voicing on the PT is very marshally.

Plexitone--$150
Univox U1246B--$230
Crate Blue Voodoo cab $120
V30/G12H30 Hellatones--$250
retubing and overhaul for amp by tech $100

Two Marshalls and a lead boost in a half stack at my disposal for $850 total which sounds awesome at either bedroom or ear splitting volumes---priceless!

Re: My Plexitone arrived

If I get it, the Plexitone gets into hot rod plexi territory...? So it'd go up to where the Vox Bulldog takes up?

Re: My Plexitone arrived

I got complaints from the other guitarist in my band at a practice last week, saying that the sound I was getting with my PT prototype was too good!

That is beautiful! I bet the tone is phenominal...

Thanks for the info, but I hate you guys, because I have to figure out how to fly this one in under radar...:)

Re: My Plexitone arrived

Ah^it has seen action now eh!!
:D

Oh yes! I was able to get eveything I wanted just using my amp's clean ch, the Duplexer and Jekyll side of my J&H to give it a kick. My current search for tone is almost complete! Note that I say "current"! :smack:

i think i've got a good idea as to what that might sound like!!! lol!

Re: My Plexitone arrived

They are different, Hoss's does have a hotter second channel, but it is still far away from the PT, the PT has alot of upper mid bite and a big fat bottomend, while the AC has a much sweeter old combo style bite, and alot less bottomend.
AC=sweet middy open and crisp.
PT=Big uppermiddy open and fat, plus it has the extra woody sound on the right amp.
