Hi everyone, I've been working on building some speaker cabinets over the past several weeks. I don't get much time to work on them but I'm getting closer to finishing and I' pretty excited so far on how they are turning out. I don't know why I didn't take pictures to follow my progress, guess I just spaced out about that but here's a couple of pictures of my progress. What do you guys think?

Re: My project that I've been working on

Looks cool!

Do you have a thread on your Edwards lemon drop?

Re: My project that I've been working on

That's some nice construction you've got going there! I used to build cabs out of plywood, but I never did all that routing and stuff. Good solid cabs, fully glued joints, those are gonna be nice!

What are you planning to put in them for speakers?

Re: My project that I've been working on

@Dr. Vegetable i'm putting a v30 and gt12t-75 in each one.
Thank for the compliments also.

Re: My project that I've been working on

Thats some quality work wright there. Those things are gonna be Flamethrowers!

Re: My project that I've been working on

I hope they will sound awsome, I've been working on them for four and a half weeks.

Hopefully I can start covering them this weekend.

@DankStar I got to apologize I said I would post some pic of my edwards LP but I don't have time tonight to do that but I'll post some soon

Those look really great! What are the dimensions, if I may ask?

Also, it would be great to see a shot from the inside before you install the speakers. I would like to see how the baffle is mounted and all. .

So far it looks terrific!

No biggie, just thought I'd ask. Cabs are gonna rock!

@DankStar Here's a couple of pictures of my Edwards LP lemon drop. I have a pg/jazz A3 pu in the neck and a pg/c rough cast A5 pu in the bridge. Oh and don't make fun of my pickguard, I get very bad static from it when I touch it that why there is tape on it.

@larplus The mounting of the baffle board is fairly simple. You have screws go through the baffle board and screw in to the front slanted peices. I took a foew pictures to try and show you. The screw in the picture is just for reference for you to see.

As for the dimensions they are based off a marshall mf400 cab. The out side dimension are roughly 33" tall 17" wide and 14.5" deep

Re: My project that I've been working on

Looks good! I've be considering building a 2x12 as well. My dad owns a dove-tail jig, so I figure I should take advantage of that.

Re: My project that I've been working on

Thanks yougthrasher9. I wish I had specialized tools like a dove tail jig. I had to actually borrow a two different routers for these cabs. I didn't realize that the router bit for the 3/4" radius edges only comes in a 1/2" shank. LOL I know several people with 1/4" shank routers but only one person I know had a 1/2" dewalt router and I wouldn't really call him a friend but I was very thankful he let use it. All I have to do now is preform a 4 wheel alignment on his lifted truck. Yay!!!:banghead:

Re: My project that I've been working on

Well here's an update on my project. Had some problems with my tolex job on my first cab, the tolex kinda shrunk and the glue I used sucked. Anyways it turned out so so good I think for my first time doing this. Here's some pictures.
