My quiet rig

Very basic: guitar into GE-7 into the TC 550 thing into the headphones. Sounds very tinnitus friendly and it makes me play more, which is a bonus. Surprisingly, Custom Custom beats my 3 JB versions and the BW in this combo for high gain bridge noodling, it's my favourite in this setup.

This is my quiet rig. It's not spot on, but a very good substitute, considering I set up the patches by A/B'ing against my real amps.

Very nice, do you play through headphones? What type of headphones? I also have a Zoom G3N which I tried to use, but I just couldn't get rid of the fizz and the piercing highs.

I use personal monitors, not earphones. Speakers sound better to me, and I have tone controls on them if needed. The MS-50G isn't fizzy or piercing through speakers. Even running it DI into a board and back into IEMs, it sounds great, like real mic'd amps.

hey whats up with those zoom multistomps - there's a bunch of different models but in ads they'll have the same OD shown on the front. is there a bunch of overlap or something or are they all unique? I couldn't even find info on their site when I did a search when they came out

Sounds like it could be a lack of cab sim that is giving you that issue

Some folks find the amp and cab sims in the G3N quite usable, but I hear them differently, I get ear fatigue and my ears start ringing after few minutes of playing, probably my tinnitus? By comparison, this 550 thing sounds full and punchy with the tone settings I'm using in a very pleasant way.

From what I figured out, there is overlap, but there are differences. E.g. the CDR is Chorus/Delay/Reverbs-only which gives you more memory to run the better HD algorithms. The G has all of the CDR effects plus amp and speaker models but can run out of memory if you try to chain too much at once. I never looked into the other G3+ multi-stomps, but if you download the specific effects manual (not the user manual, just the list of effects) for each you can compare what they have.

Ah, that explains it. I even asked on a zoom post on FB and they didn’t explain. You’d think they’d be happy to talk about their products. Thank you.

I have three quiet rigs I have used. (Stock photos mostly)

My main one is POD Go into my Scarlett 2i2 w/ Headphones.

Next case is Mooer Mini 900+Delay/Reverb into Garageband

For quiet portability - Vox headphone amp and Earbuds

And, if I'm very quiet, but don't want headphones on...H&K Tubemeister18 set to .5 watts

Come to think of it, I also have a couple Rockmans and a PocketRockit. But they are hissy, so I didn't think of them as quiet. :D
