I'd be interested to see x rays, I know they were swiss cheesing the higher end models already by the early 80's, the Studios came out in 84.........

If I never told anyone my Classic was weight relieved they'd never know it, that thing is 9.4 lbs.

And it doesn't affect the tone of the guitar in anyway shape or form, the holes are drilled in areas that are just dead weight anyways.

You got a solid LP,Darnright got a deal on a project And I get to keep the Repo man out of my driveway! Well, it feels heavy enough to not be cheesed. I'll have to see if I can find someone with an old x-ray machine...

Just for reference, The LP I shipped to you weighted in at 8.6 LBS. I never weighted my 90' Studio, But it felt about the same.

I like the oddball pickups, actually. I have the original bridge pickup, too, and the black trim stuff as well. I can do a lot with that. I'll pop the bridge pickup to find out what it is exactly.

LOL! Yeah, I was gonna ask what it is.. And yeah, Im picky about how my guits look, but the one cover on/one off looks classic cuz thats how pageys were IIRC.. Plus the keys are sweet too

As far as I know, they were not doing the swiss cheese thing in 94. Rosewood board, and it feels amazing to play. This is real Gibson. One piece body, with the proper carved maple cap. I can't wait to see how it fits with the band through my Plexi.

it's not necessarily a bad thing if it is.
the reason i ask is that i have a '97 mkIII and it's basically a semi-acoustic with a balsawood centre block. there seems to be a few different opinions on exactly what gibson did and when, but in my opinion the only way to know for sure is to check the cavities in the guitar in question.
yours is either solid or possibly swiss-cheesed, but obviously not in any extreme way

be ready for the JB in a paul through a plexi to not be a natural fit, btw
