Pure rock'n'roll.

I can't quite make it out in the picture. Is that the five string Tele? Did the new Deluxe see an outing?

Yes and yes. The new Custom saw the stage. Performed well, although having that pickup toggle switch right in my strumming path is going to take some getting used to.

Goddamn it, I always mix up Custom and Deluxe.

You could always do what I do with Les Pauls when the switch annoys me; loosen the bolt slightly, rotate it about ninety degrees and retighten the bolt. Just as convenient for quick pickup switching, but you're much less likely to flip pickups when you accidentally catch it on a strum.

Hmm... Your ideas intrigue me and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

Can't rotate the switch in a Tele, but in my Tele I reverse the control mounting plate so the switch is down by the bridge. Then I reverse the vol and tone pots so the vol control is next to the scratchplate, tone in the middle, then selecter switch at the bottom. Takes a little while to get used to, but it gets the switch out of the way from strumming.

Pretty sure you can in a Tele Custom, which is what we're talking about. Unless the route is rectangular and fitted to the switch (I've never been under the hood in one of those things.)
