My take on a few classics

As you may or may not know, I started making my own guitars a couple of years ago. I had a very clear idea what I wanted to make back then! Over time, my wishes got a bit watered down, but I try to maintain that idea regardless. I wanted to make simple instruments. Tonally strong, great playability and affordable. But.... the more I made, the more people wanted other stuff so affordable had to go out of the window :P It's still not as expensive as others but alsno not nearly as cheap as I wanted to offer my products. Oh well.

One of the ideas I had was to offer two lines of singlecut guitars. The cheaper lineup would have slab bodies with a singlepiece neck, carved front and the choice of a couple of pickup configurations, based on the LP special, tele and strat. The more expensive lineup would have a carved top on korina, single piece rosewood neck, ebony board, dual hum and more elaborate controls. I got to make the telePaul at first and the 'standard' (maple on korina, RW neck) second and then... it stalled. It took me four years to finally get it all done, haha. Easy guitars, but I just didn't get around to make 'm.

So, now... they're done. three carved face LP's. Twice ash with maple, once black korina with ovangkol (thank you, cites). tele, LP Special and strat. (kinda).

Really dig them! Really like how the one on the left turned out. Excellent job! :friday:

Re: My take on a few classics

I like your unique designs. The fact that they are fairly simple- no plastic-dipped finish, etc, is a plus.

@mincer: thanks bro :) they're a reflection of me: odd, breaking the mold but quite fun to hang out with once you pierce through the initial impression haha
