Regarding the function of the vibrola - the nut and saddle slots have to be cut pretty perfectly. Old SGs often had domed thumbwheels so that as you depressed the arm, the bridge itself would rock back and forth, which helped with tuning. Anyway, these are meant more for subtle wobbles, not stuff your Gotoh 510 or Floyd can do.

There's actually nothing wrong with the tuning stability on it. I just don't like the feel of using it, nor the fact that the screw always loosens on the arm in 2 seconds

Epiphone pups are pretty good these days; reasonably close approximations of some USA stuff.

Ah right; my point still stands - the aforementioned videos do also talk about how to fix the loose arm issue, I think Puisheen especially. Iirc (it's been a while), it's about putting in a longer screw holding the arm and two hex nuts, so you adjust the desired tension with one, then the other locks it all in position.

I agree on Epi pups being decent now days.
I have an inspired by Gibson SG Classic and the P90s sound good. A little different that my Gibson P90 in my Jr...but Good sound.
