Hoss

Joyfulnoiseologist
the older guys probably remember these...but some of the newer members might not have heard em...

my new blues band will record some stuff as soon as we get tight...

all vocals are me...Listen & Never let me down, lyrics and melodies all written by me, my friend richard played and mixed...Jeff_H playing on plush.

i still have some tunes on digitalsoundplanet that i need to transfer over to soundclick...i'll do that soon!!!

anyways...have fun!

my tunage...

getting ready to do a song with Stevo and Jeff_H again...would love to do one with anyone else that needs vocals as well...

later,
mike

Re: my tunes...

i've just started band radio off, Listen is on - its really good man!

you got a great voice man, its just a little high in the mix.

if i do some classic rock covers in the near future would you sing em? its hard to find a good singer on the net, but i reck i just found one :D

i dunno what song i'd do yet but i'd love it if you'd sing.

The solo is good in Listen :)

Re: my tunes...

I LOVE your "Times Like These"! Wow! Foo Fighters were one of my first favorite bands.

Re: my tunes...

I would absolutely sing for anyone here!!! and love every minute of it!!!

"Listen" actually got some moderate radio play here locally...

and thanks biu...

that means alot from both of you...both of you guys ROCK!!!

Re: my tunes...

You've got a great voice Hoss. I'd love to hear you sing some Bob Seger stuff.

We are short of vocalists in here so hang around.

that's funny...one of my favorite songs to play and sing is "here i am on the road again" :)

if somebody records that one...count me in!!!

Can you sing any Queen, Hoss?

now that would probably be out of my range...

arena rock and hair band stuff (for lack of better terms) are too high for my voice...

but i've done songs like that in the past buy like lowered them an octave which gave them kind of an "Everlast" feel to them...

Re: my tunes...

WOW! Man Hoss, what a great voice! And several great songs in there. If you make an album, I'll buy it for sure.

I always hated the fact that rock bands sing way to high in a womanish voice. I once read a guy's comment saying after Robert Plant, all rockers started to sing like women, which is a bit true with some exceptions.

Great guitar play also. I'll be damn if you didn't succeed with that voice and that playing talent.

Did you know that Gene Simmons now has a record company and that he invites all Americans to send their demos through his web site to find new talents? You should send him your demos. If I had a record company, I would have signed you the minute I heard your voice. Really, :yourock:

Re: my tunes...

thanks for the kind words fellas...

just to make sure no one misunderstands...a fellow forum member "richard" played guitar on the tracks with the exception of plush (Jeff_H)

however, i did write the lyrics/melodies and could swing the rhythmn sections & bass lines, but i can't solo to save my life...LOL!!!

i'm primarily a singer/songwriter/bass player with a little bit of guitar thrown in for good measure...

i wish i had time to record all of my songs...i've got alot that have yet to have music put to them and most of them already have melodies in mind...that's usually the way i write...i hear the whole song at the same time...not just the lyrics...not just the riff...i'll just start singing and tapping my foot to the tempo and richard fills it in...

Re: my tunes...

Hey Hoss,

You ever release an album I'll buy one - great stuff!

Must be cool to be able to play AND sing :cool3:

Hey Hoss......I did a slight re-master of Plush. Cut some of the high frequencies in the vocal range and brought the overall level down. Then I compensated by layering the drums, bass and rythym guitar parts over the mix again and then brought those levels up in the mix.

I think this is a more balanced version, not that the other one was bad...just the voice was a little high in the mix as stated. Feel free to update it on your site if you like it....if not tell me to pound sand.

Re: my tunes...

Dude!!! I am blown away by your vocal skills Hoss. That stuff was f-ing GREAT. I can't believe how great you did on plush.

I have a bunch of stuff that needs vocals. I'd be delighted if you'd consider it. I have other stuff that needs lyrics and vocals if you'd be interested?

Great job. I am glad I had a few minutes to check it out.

Re: my tunes...

i'd love to RGN!!!

if you've got the vocals i'll give it a try...i'm not so good at adding lyrics to songs that have already been written but i'd give it a shot if you had some of those in mind too...?!

Re: my tunes...

Great voice Hoss!! I too may be seeking some vocal assistance on a classic tune or two. It sure would take the pressure off of soloing straight through for several minutes. It would make it more intersesting for the listener as well.
