My Tweed Lacquering (Shellacking) Project....

So this is my little PTP wired 5E3 clone & recently it’s been my go to amp for band practice, gigs, Etc. because it’s a smaller combo that breathes fire!!! As anyone who has owned a naked Tweed amp knows they can get very dirty very quickly, especially if they aren’t just sitting in a studio!

So I decided to take a swing at lacquering some Tweed today for additional protection but also I really didn’t feel like the finish fit the amplifier before? Mind you this is the first one I’ve ever done but I think it came out pretty dang good if I do say so myself....

This is one coat of clear spray lacquer for a sealer & 6-7 coats of dark amber shellac...

Oh man, that is a huge improvement! Well done!

Yeah, I’m pretty happy with it!!!

Also I think Shellack is my new favorite finish?

It looks amazing, does a fantastic job of projecting it, & it very easy to touch up if needed...
