Well, MJ did wind the coil herself. Probably why it works! We used dun-aged A5 magnets and the pup was underwound. I'm using it with an Antiquity P90 with A2 mags in the bridge.
Wow.
Double wow.
I guessed right. Underwinding the neck pup with a weakened A5 mag balanced quite nicely with the hotter wind bridge pup with the A2 mag. The underwind was about a 7.45 or so ohms. I can't recall exactly what the bridge normal Antiquity is but 8.5 or so I believe. The normal Antiquity neck I have is about 7.9 I think.
Anyway, I had tried some Lollar P90s and liked the neck a lot. Jason told me it was a slightly degaussed A5 mags. The Lollar I have is a bit hotter, more in the 7.9 range. I thought it was a bit too focused. Underwinding my A5 Antiquity P90 seemed to soften it up just a tad, but still gave me that balls to the wall P90 tone I crave.
It is a shame it took me 10 days to get it installed. Just didn't have enough time. Very nice pup. Thanks MJ and thanks Seymour for having us in for UGD.
