First let me say Dave is a great guy to deal with.He made suggestions, asked questions and was real easy to talk with.I sent him a Texas Hot Custom Bridge I had bought on Ebay that arrived dead.I was looking for him to keep it as close as he could to the original but a little hotter. He suggested tapping it so I could possibly use it as a neck pup too, which was a good idea ,I thought. Let me tell you,he nailed it and made a great pup.The tap is at 7.7k and full on is 10.6k and I love it.It retains alot of the feel of the original and blends real well with the rest of the TH's.Tapped is a great vintage output with just a little hair but still very open ,clear and airy. Full on adds just a nice kick in the pants.Full, more compressed and drives the amp a little harder.I put it in my #1 axe and I plan on it staying there for quite awhile. I went from strumming cleans to pouring the gain on and playing some Maiden and I was blown away that I could finally do both well without changing guitars. It was great! We were both wondering if winding an A2 that much would make it a bit dark but it didnt and I wouldnt be afraid to wind it a little more if I was to do it again.Maybe the 9k to 12k area, that would really smoke. So my thanks to Dave,he's great guy and did a great job and he did it very quickly too.He had it back to me in less time than it took my to finally get it installed and try it out.
If any of you have considered getting a pup rewound, look him up .He does great work and will probably save you some green too.
