Mysterious Dents

Re: Mysterious Dents

What type of music are you playing..... Djent? Seriously though it’s odd.

Re: Mysterious Dents

It might be the case.

Happened to one of my guitars years ago, involving one of the little metal round feet. Its center post was meant to split into a "T", but both wings got hammered down to the same side. This caused a bigger-than-normal bump under the lining, and in a very short amount of time it damaged the guitar.

Another thing to check out. Good luck!

Re: Mysterious Dents

Players get dents and scratches. Deal with it or don't play them.

Hey I'm all for dents, I like how dents look and, like Ayrton said, denting them by intention is not a bad idea, but if you want to sell the future, people will definitely take advantage of that, and attempt to dip the scale in their favor even if they don't mind dents.
Thankfully the last guy I sold a guitar to didn't look there (not that I denied the presence of cosmetic issues). If he didn't notice the dents, why mess up his experience, and possibly influence his mindset? (some people don't think dents are an issue until they run into enough people that do).

Anyways I think I found the sob:

the dented area does not rest on that worn out part but perhaps I hit it by accident when I try to position my guitars in the stand. I tried simulating the cable hypothesis, and it would definitely require abnormal force to cause dents like that with cable mis-aiming.

It's a Hercules stand if anybody's feeling like a vigilante.

Yes. Is that why they call it djent?

Thanks for your care everyone.
