Just thought i would share all the guitars i have bought this year with a little story about each
1988 Charvel Model 3dr. Found on craigslist paid $450 has Screamin' Demon bridge and Lil' 59 in the neck. Thing plays like a dream. Im still on the fence about the Screamin' Demon-has great note definition and clarity but not enough output for my tastes
2016 Charvel San Dimas Pro Mod-did a straight trade for a 2011 Les paul studio i had that i really didnt like. Guitar was bought new by the previous owner and mint condition. It needs a setup-way too low and with .009 gauge strings....JB/59 combo for pups
1995 Charvel San Dimas II Koa. I have been wanting one of these since they came out. I bought a Lacewood model I when it first came out and never liked the tone. I played one of these a few months after and was blown away. This guitar needs a setup badly since it was basically "wall art" for nearly 20 years. Mint bone stock condition.
1989 Epiphone USA Pro I-what an awesome shredstick! I absolutely love this thing. All original Licensed Schaller made Floyd rose, Bill Lawrence Pups i am on the fence with. I have an MJ wound Full Shred trembucker that i may replace it with. Neck pup is not the greatest-may replace or rewind. Seems to be a specific size that a Duncan would not fit (opinions?)
Kramer Focus 3000-Just picked this up today for $250. this has to be one of the last they ever made. the truss rod cover says "F-3000". Bridge Pup is a Dimarzio Fred and it sounds like ass. I may swap the screamin' demon from the charvel into this one. Other than that its a fine guitar. MIJ at the ESP plant apparently.
Kramer American Showster Savant 1+1. what an odd duck. Found this at a local Guitar Center that some old dude was trading in. I inquired about what they were going to ask for it. They said $109. I was like "SOLD!". Wierd Nightswan-ish pickup configuration and had lots of fret wear. It had (later to find out) an MJ wound Duncan Distortion trembucker and a Parallel Axis MJ wound neck Pups so that is what i really wanted. I had a JB/59 set i bought cheap so i had them swapped and the guitar set up. The tech at guitar center could not get the guitar set up properly so he offered a free fret replacement. I said "absolutely"!!!! now the guitar plays great but this is just a "flip" guitar (if anybody is interested let me know)
1993 Les Paul Limited Edition (studio). Yet another rare/odd yet amazing guitar. This originally had p-90s in it but previous owner replaced with Dimarzio super distortion soapbar pups. Let me tell you...wow! sounds incredible. Insane low end and great not definition. Easily the best Dimarzio pups i have ever heard. This one is really a Studio but has an ebony fretboard-very nice feature.
