NAD Bugera G5

Well the Thomann site had the better price but the voltage was European
And I couldnt use it so I cancelled the German one and ordered it from Amazon

Shoot ordered it Monday night, and it showed up today Wednesday
Please note ,
Thomann still hasn't shipped the speaker cabinet

But I gots amps

Showed up in a BIG Amazon box with a single sheet of kraft paper
Behringer had double boxed it
A black and tan outer box that enclosed a multicolored retail box
It was kinda like one of those stacking dolls



No damage to the outer boxes but the retail box had a bruise




Well packed at the factory , no damage it seems

I thought about getting an instrument microphone
A shure sm57 or a sennheiser 609 , but my new setup makes that unnecessary with all the emulated line outs

Like Bruce said, I wont be able to drown out a loud drummer. But I've got a couple of 400 watt Powered PA speakers that will tick one off bad

This looks like the perfect at home amp
Can't wait to get the Cab

I'm gonna see if I can hot wire it to the Laney or Carvin tomorrow

I like the way those sound in the clips I've heard. Often thought of picking one up myself. Lots of cool features for home practice/recording too..

Congrats! Nice boxing job. The foot thingy to me... looks somehow pretty solid and kinda cheapo at the same time, does it feel solid underfoot?
I hope your cab comes soon. Waiting blows.
And emulated line outs can be hit or miss, sometimes I think amp makes make the emulations really warm and spongey, too much so... is the emulation switchable? Still, way better than nothing and a great option to have.
Congrats again looks like fun gear.

By switchable, it does have a switch that let's you choose 4x12 or 1x12
On the amp

The Jet City speaker has a Jet City direct box with the emulation in it
The videos I have seen on that dont sound so good
Compared to a mic'd cab

I keep emailing Thomann about the cabinet
It says it's in stock
But for some reason, they still haven't shipped it

They said it would take 6 to 9 business days to get here

It could have made it if they had shipped it, I dunno, like Monday
I ordered it here Saturday night
That would have been Sunday morning to them

I can see them waiting til Monday afternoon to confirm
Maybe Tuesday at the latest
But it's almost Friday


Maybe I misunderstood
And they meant 6 to 9 days before they ship a product

Is weed legal in Germany?

Awesome!! I love those little amps.

One thing about recording. I wouldn't discount getting a mic, yet.

For my recent vid where I reviewed the Blackstar amp I had, I A/B'd the DI and mic, and the mic sounded WAAAAAAY better. I had initially wanted to record the review DI, but after listening to it, decided to do it the old fashioned way with a mic. At the time I only had an SM57, but now, I also have an e609 and will record with both at the same time. YMMV.

I connected it to my Carvin Belair speakers
Man that thing is loud
Thru a 2x12 8 ohm cab

I think Behringer may have a better emulator than Blackstar
I will check
I was watching one of those Guitar Max videos
He seemed to think they were al.ost identical
I will try to record a sample with a 58 vs the emulated line
We will see

You may have just had a much nicer speaker
I noticed some differences in speakers

The emulator approximates their house brand speaker
So it may not sound like your Vintage 30


Those Carvins sounded great
They got them on sale right now at $59
But with shipping it becomes $74

At $79 one could have some Eminence speakers

And I am looking at replacement speakers

It hasn't arrived yet
It comes with an Eminence speaker
I haven't heard the darned thing
Or seen it

There must be something wrong with me

I was looking
I can get a creamback 8 ohm for $99

About the same for a Vintage 30

I saw an EHX version of a V30 for $34

It's too much

Well I'm gonna try the Eminence that comes with for a bit
Then if I must swap
It'll be an 8 ohm

Those VL12 Carvi. Branded speakers sounded pretty good
Those would be mostly the same as the GT12 that they have now
Just no 8 ohm versions

the cab has made in into customs
and is somewhere in route
though I do not know where

i have played it through my Carvin Belair VL series speakers and it is a loud rascal cranked into that 2x12 at 8 ohms

I like it so far

just waiting on the cab to get here

So I ran the cabinet XLR into the PA
And, as promised, it sounded like a nicely mic'd cabinet

Also ran the emulated headphone/DI on the amp head to the PA
It also sounded nice
There was a slight difference between the 1x12 and 4x12 setting
The 1x12 had a slightly better bass response
I would suppose from the smaller cabinet or something
Very slight though

I liked the cabinet XLR better it seemed more dynamic
I haven't ABd the actual mic'd speaker yet

In a mix all would probably be usable

So I took the new rig over to my buddy's house
And he agrees that at full 5 watts, in a band situation, someone will get mad
Its loud
The 16 ohm 100 watt Eminence speaker sounds great and is just short of teeth rattling

And it sounds just fine
I probably wont be swapping it any time soon
