Back to the first amp I ever built. Surf green and cane. Weber alnico, Merc Mag, Mojo pine cab, SoZo and TAD caps, carbon comp res, etc.

Dime this bad boy and work the guitar vol Knob to clean it up. Just excels at it.

Wonderful work as always Scott... based on my humble build of the same circuit, I can only imagine how great yours sound!

Re: NAD Celtic 5E3

Cosmetics chosen by me and I didn't like it when I arrived from Mojo. But really grew on me.

Re: NAD Celtic 5E3

sweet man. i still have the first one and it sounds fantastic! i like the green

Re: NAD Celtic 5E3

Send me a gut shot of the first one some time Jeremy? i'd love to see the innards of my first amp. How long ago was that?

Re: NAD Celtic 5E3

many many moons ago my friend. ill snap a pic for ya but ive redone a lot of stuff playing with mods and trying this and that then pulled the board out and cleaned everything up. i was running it really hot for a while and some of the solder joints looked pretty bad. now its basically back to stock other than .047 caps instead of the .1 to shave a little bottom end

Re: NAD Celtic 5E3

Wasn't fond of the green tolex at first, but seeing it w/ that pair of teles......:bigthumb:

Re: NAD Celtic 5E3

Keep the green! That thing looks awesome. Don't put tweed anywhere near it.

Re: NAD Celtic 5E3

NOOOOOOOO! Leave it all surf/minty!!!!!!

A labor of love - obviously. Add a Carl Martin Surf Tree, and sell all three as a set.
